Misunderstanding In The Blue Room

In 1968 John Russell, British critique who was in charge of holding a huge exhibition in Tate Gallery in London where Ballots works were being shown, was repeatedly asked to provide explanations for his works.
Ballots complied after John’s persistency in asking him to do so, and sent John the following message:
Just put this down next to my works "Ballots is a painter whom I know nothing about therefore we had better look at his works to find out who he really is.”
