New Epoque

The series of "New Epoque" is the result of my work from 2013 till 2017. The word "New Epoque" to me, is an intertwined of three components. "New", "Persian New Year" and "Time" [This is a verbal articulation in Farsi and could not be translated]. "New Epoque" is a symbolic and ironic indication to resurrection.
I was about to finish the project, that I noticed the belief in resurrection goes back far before the advent of Islam. "Erdaviraf-Nameh" is the name of a book that most likely goes back to the Sassanid dynasty and narrates the story of a monk by the name of "Viraf" that goes to a deliberate sleep and experiences the life after death. After waking up, he reports the story of his mystical journey to the people that stopped believing in the resurrection.
At the time of performing these artworks, human, water snail, tamarind, banana and almost everything else regardless of their nature, I saw only their appearance. I wanted to get to know how natural living things are related visually. All of this as for the purpose of painting these personal types, so that I could believe all of the identities of my personal life.
The method I adopted to perform was time consuming. Leading to the painting, the biggest painting of these series took about six months. In order to achieve the formal quality that I had in mind, I had to most of the artwork with the sharp tip of the pencil/ paintbrush. Somewhere down the line, I noticed when I apply this method, in their general outlook some kind of silence and old sense was created and this was exactly what I needed to create this pre-conceived world.
