The recent series by Mina Nouri reveals her latest pursuit in the field of form and meaning. In each new series, she seeks a new way to adjust and refine her personal idiom: the materials and techniques, subjects, and concepts she has pursued and lived with through decades. In this manner, she continues to make and maintain her subjective world through lines and forms, colour and texture, printmaking and painting, net and rope, sound and silence, light and dark, and passion and command. In the recent series, she continues to involve us in her playful, aesthetic experiments with the same familiar, limited subjects and motifs, and, in a symbolic or actual manner, communicate her visions, messages and inner feelings.
In the cold, sober, black and white atmosphere of these pieces, the dialogue between natural elements and the interplay of green and red complementary colours, allude to perils and threats as well as hope and endurance.
